Design Engineer

Veranexhas an exciting opportunity to join the Design Engineering Team out of at the Minneapolis site. You will participate in design and development activities to transform concepts into manufacturable solutions as part of a team dedicated to improving lives globally through healthcare innovation. This role reports to the Director of Design Engineering and collaborates with Product Development & Industrial Design teams globally.

The ideal candidate should be an innovative, creative, and well-organized self-starter, a good problem solver, collaborative, and passionate about enhancing patient care and advancing the healthcare industry. Experience with medical device development or a similar regulated industry is preferred. As a consultant, they should be comfortable working with clients as a trusted partner, managing risk-based decisions in the interest of project success.

Candidates should demonstrate solid conceptual skills and the ability to solve complex problems. They must be adept at managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and approaching diverse challenges with creativity and effective problem-solving techniques.

• Execute the design and development of medical devices and equipment, inclusive of ideation sessions through design refinement and down selection activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project success and client delight.
• Participate in a variety of prototyping & manufacturing processes, including molding, machining, rapid prototyping techniques, etc. to support a fast to function mentality.
• Develop detailed computer-aided design (CAD) packages to include 3D data and 2D drawings.
• Maintain day-to-day communication with program managers and all appropriate program team members.
• Research andprocuresample components and develop prototypes to advance programs.
• Develop and execute prototype testing plans and protocols to aid in concept down selection.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and standards.
• Manage time and activities to meet project milestones.
• Train to, understand, and apply applicable medical device industry Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Quality System Regulation (QSR) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) regulations

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 2+ years relevant work experience.
• Working knowledge of medical product development.
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office and Solid Works, including advanced modeling techniques such as surfacing and assembly creation.
• Strong hands-on prototyping abilities with a propensity towards action
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
