- Assist in performing thermal and mechanical design review of HRSG/boiler systems to assure that the design will meet all process requirements and guarantees (steam flows, steam purity, pressure drops, emissions etc.).
- Bring to the attention of the Applications/Mechanical and Project Engineer differences in the as sold design and customer specifications.
- Design all flow manipulators (vanes, perforated plates, etc.) to achieve the required gas flow distribution.
- Design drum internals to achieve the required steam purity.
- Assist in the review/design all pipe sizes and layout, including circulation piping, to assure that proper velocities and pressure drops are maintained over all operating conditions.
- Develop a mechanical flow diagram, if required, showing all design temperatures and pressures.
- Develop process flow diagrams/summaries, if required, showing flows, temperatures and pressures at different operating conditions.
- Assist in the production and maintenance of the project data sheet throughout the course of the project.
- Assist with the development of project specific technical specifications for the procurement of auxiliary equipment such as fans, burners, catalyst, deaerators, pumps, etc.
- Interface with the Applications Engineers on design changes/improvements.
- Assist in the review of vendor drawings to assure that the process guarantees will be met (burner duty and catalyst emissions are examples).
- Provide feedback for improvements of application computer programs (TCAP, CIRC, etc.) to the Information Technology department.
- Provide information to the Engineering Department for the development of new programs and/or standards.
- Mechanical/Chemical Engineering Student.
- Engineering interests in the following areas: (Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow, Thermodynamics)
- Proficient technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records such as MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Conduct self in professional manner and apply effective communicate skills with both internal and external customers.
- Apply strong attention to detail and organizational skills to coordinate multiple project deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for continual process improvements in performing essential job functions and meeting realistic business requirements.
