Mechanical Drafter

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter for a 6-month contract assignment to support their engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with engineers who are responsible for 3D modeling and design development. Your primary responsibility will be to finalize models, produce accurate drawings, and prepare complete documentation packages based on engineering input and reference materials.

Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Location: New Hope, MN
Pay Rate: 25-35hr

Key Responsibilities

• Support engineers by finalizing and refining 3D models
• Generate detailed 2D drawings from 3D models
• Create and maintain drawing packages, including assemblies and part drawings
• Ensure drawings meet company, industry, and customer standards
• Incorporate redlines and design revisions accurately and efficiently
• Maintain organized documentation and revision control
• Assist with creating reference drawings and design documentation for internal and external use
• Communicate effectively with engineers to clarify design intent and requirements

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of mechanical drafting experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, redlines, and specifications
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative engineering team
