Senior Electrical Project Engineer – Milwaukee, WI & Minneapolis, MN

In This Role You Will
  • Lead a team of electrical engineers, designers and BIM specialists
  • Write scopes of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client
  • Prepare workplans for design teams based on project scope and team member skillsets
  • Assess project requirements, break a project into tasks and work with the design team to determine scope, budget, and staffing
  • Prepare engineering opinion of probable cost for electrical systems and review contractor cost estimates
  • Be skilled in electrical design, collaborating with owners to define project requirements, conducting building load calculations, analyzing power distribution, sizing equipment, and editing specifications
  • Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems
  • Present complex engineering analysis clearly and effectively to owner and design teams
  • Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with company standards, code compliance, Owner’s requirements, design standards, and HGA quality expectations
  • Work with building performance team to design and integrate alternative energy sources into electrical distribution for sustainable designs
  • Oversee, guide, and direct a team responsible for Revit production
  • Assist in the education and development of design staff and function as a resource for questions
You Will Need To Have
  • BS or MS degree in electrical engineering
  • 15+ years of experience in designing power systems for healthcare, commercial, cultural, government, industrial, higher education, and campus energy systems to support our 8 market segments
  • Professional licensure is required
  • Documented experience with a consulting engineering firm or A/E firm providing electrical design
  • Expertise in NFPA codes and understanding of applicable city, state, federal codes
  • Working knowledge of Revit
  • Familiarity with electrical analysis software (e.g. SKM, Easy Power, Helioscope) and knowledge of current sustainable technologies applicable to commercial electrical system design
Salary Information

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based on work experience, education, licensure requirements, and skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals working more than 24 hours a week are eligible to participate in HGA’s benefit programs, including annual bonus, success sharing program, 401(k) with guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance, PTO and short- and long-term disability.

Salary Range: $101,200 – $134,800 depending on qualifications and experience
