E&C Engineer II; Structural

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of a machine, structure, or system. Develops functional requirements. Understands and applies standard engineering principles. Creates simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure, or system operates. Designs and tests components, and integrates components to produce the final product. Monitors product quality and controls process efficiency. Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.

Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommends improvements.

• Multi-year hydroelectric facility projects in Western Wisconsin involving dam reconstruction and upgrades.
• Heavy structural steel and reinforced concrete work; work in water with staged installations.
• Significant regulatory involvement with FERC.
• Estimated 5–6 years of resource needs.

• Structural engineering focus (steel, concrete).
• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• Microsoft Office; heavy SharePoint use.
• Ability to open native CAD files (Micro Station ideal).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Hydro or water-in-work experience.
• Experience with FERC-regulated projects.
• PE or FE not required but preferred.

• Strong communication (written & verbal).
• Team collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-management and prioritization.
