  • Partnering with/providing oversight to division manufacturing sites to drive Operational Quality Excellence and continuous improvement:
    Working to identify, address sources of risk and variability, standardize work and error proof operations, and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Quality support for New Product Introductions and Change Management Requests for source of supply and/or manufacturing operational changes to ensure robust product performance, test method implementation, product and process qualifications, design reviews, risk mitigation, and control plans
  • Leading and providing support to cross functional teams on the resolution of quality issues including product recalls, complaints, nonconforming materials, etc. while monitoring and addressing root causes
  • Providing support for the division’s Quality Management Systems, including ownership of corrective and preventive actions and driving Supplier / Outsource Manufacturing Quality control and improvement
  • Partnering with the division laboratory regarding the measurement system analysis (MSA) of Test Methods for R&D and Plants.
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years combined quality engineering, manufacturing, and/or lab experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of experience in a quality or engineering role supporting coating, crushing, and / or screening processes
  • Project management skills and experience with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience with Statistics and other Data Analytics
  • Internal and/or external auditing experience
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience working with Customers and Suppliers
  • Experience with championing and/or deploying Quality Management Systems (e.g. Change Management, CAPA, Complaint Systems, Quality Data Systems, Documentation Systems, etc.)
Work location:

This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel:

May include up to 15% domestic/international

The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M.
