Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician is responsible for working with customers to provide Aftermarket Service support on existing Bepex equipment. Troubleshooting root causes of process or mechanical problems to prevent future issues. Position will also include some pre-commissioning mechanical inspections of new installations. When not in the field, this position will include facilities work in our Process Development Center. This position has opportunity for growth.

• Provide guidance on installation of new or modified equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
• Provide on-site and/or remote technical assistance to help support customers and/or troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Provide communication link between the customer and Bepex to help ensure effective service is provided to the customer.
• Analyze documentation and inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine the nature and scope of problems.
  
  Coordinate problem resolution with Engineering, Applications, Customer Service, or other departments and provide recommendations to the customer.
• Prepare and issue field service reports for completed visits.
• Analyze reports of mechanical and/or process problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes.
• Develop and conduct training for both team members and customers on the safe operation and maintenance of Bepex equipment.
• Must be able to work efficiently in the field without direct supervision.
• Some sales work will be involved and should be coordinated with our parts team.
• When not traveling, position requires candidate to work internally in our PDC to keep up our equipment and facilities.

• Must be able to travel domestic and international up to 50% of the time.
• Must be able to travel at short notice if required.
• Must have the flexibility to work overtime and on occasional weekends depending on the projects assigned.
• Must be able to work in an office, machine shop and customer indoor/outdoor plant facilities.
• Must have manual dexterity for handling intricate, complicated equipment and hardware.
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to reach and bend while inspecting and repairing machinery.

• Associate degree or Certificate in a technical field preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma required

• Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar technical or service field.
• Millwright, welding, or electrical (PLC/HMI) training/experience preferred but not required.
• Must have some experience in mechanical aptitude.
• Must have some experience in a chemical, mineral, food processing, fabrication or manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read PFD’s, P & ’s, and manufacturing drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and the capacity to manage priorities and expectations.
• Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must have 2 years of experience working with internal and external customers, consultants, vendors and suppliers.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
