Location

• Minneapolis, MN

Bloom is currently seeking a Highway Design Project Manager with experience in Highway Design principles. The candidate will lead design and plan production teams to successfully deliver highway projects. Candidates should have experience working on highway projects in Minneapolis, ideally for MnDOT. Micro Station and Geo Pak knowledge are ideal. Bloom Companies is an equal opportunity affirmative action employer.

Job Description Details

• Leading a team of engineers and drafters
• Lead highway design projects with deadlines and client needs
• Understand MnDOT and highway design standards and guidelines as needed
• Interacting and communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies
• Coordinating with subconsultants
• Directing and training staff on project engineering (roadway geometrics, corridor models, staging)
• Preparing project design and environmental reports
• Assisting with the preparation of proposals and contracts
• Managing project financials
• Participating in quality control/quality assurance
• Developing Client Relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• PE license required (Minnesota), or ability to obtain in 6 months
• 10+ years of progressive experience in highway design. (MnDOT experience preferred)
• Familiarity with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
• Experience with Micro Station and Geo Pak
• Ability to collaborate with the design team, clients, and agencies
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
