Civil Engineer, Drinking Water Treatment

Join Stantec and apply as a Drinking Water Treatment Engineer. In this role you will support a variety of municipal drinking water treatment projects throughout Minnesota and the upper Midwest. You will be client‑facing, leading and supporting projects related to drinking water treatment—including traditional contaminants such as iron and manganese, as well as emerging treatments for PFAS. As part of the Water team, you will work with one of North America’s leading Water professionals and collaborate on projects that span local, regional, and national geographies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management and Delivery: identify appropriate resources, manage contract terms, track and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Technical delivery: write memos/reports, prepare plans/specifications and other engineering documents.
  • Construction administration: conduct site visits, review submittals, and provide routine construction administration services.
  • Lead multi‑discipline project teams to successfully execute projects.
  • Business Development: understand client needs, communicate project status, lead client presentations, prepare proposals, and represent the company at conferences and technical presentations.
  • Administrative: serve as a mentor and provide guidance to a team of professionals, and assist with identification/recruitment of top talent.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proven project management and technical skills applicable to drinking water treatment infrastructure projects.
  • Experience organizing, planning, and executing multi‑discipline design projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Ability to make sound, defensible business decisions and solve complex problems.
  • Experience with various process system designs related to drinking water treatment infrastructure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years managing or coordinating water treatment infrastructure projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota, or ability to achieve licensure within one year of hire.

Pay Range
  • Locations in VT, & Various CA, NY Areas – Min Salary $ – Max Salary $

Pay Transparency:
In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus‑eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Summary:
