Developing, maintaining, and improving process-level risk assessments and control protocols to ensure product and process quality. This role supports assessing risks, cross-functional teams in identifying potential failure modes, and implementing effective controls to prevent defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities- Demonstrating leadership in daily standard work, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and proactive quality management.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Process FMEAs (PFMEAs) for new and existing processes, guiding cross-functional teams in identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Drive the creation and alignment of Control Plans that align with PFMEA outputs, ensuring robust process controls and consistent product quality throughout the production lifecycle.
- Analyze quality data such as print defects, registration accuracy, ink adhesion, and substrate performance to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Facilitate structured problem-solving activities (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D) with process owners to ensure root causes are effectively addressed and corrective actions are sustained.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and enhance process capability.
- Support new product development (NPD) by integrating quality requirements into design reviews, material selection, and process validation to ensure quality is built into every stage of production.
- Provide leadership in quality system improvements, including SOP development, training, and implementation of best practices across departments.
- Participate in quality improvement activities for continuous improvement.
- Support regulatory and customer compliance audits.
- Special projects assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Five or more years of experience in a quality role within a printing or manufacturing environment, strong understanding of risk assessments, experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, CAPA, and root cause analysis, ISO
9001 or 13485 internal auditor a plus; lean manufacturing a plus. Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to lead, mentor, and coach team members with problem-solving tools
- Ability to write structured reports
- Ability to interpret blueprint drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (computer-savvy)
- Skills in data analysis and trending; ability to perform multiple tasks and understand priorities.
- Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, CAPA, and root cause analysis
- ISO
9001 or 13485 internal auditor a plus
