Engineering/Lab Technician (R&D)

Job Description

The Lab Technician will play a key role in the development, evaluation, and validation of innovative technologies aimed at positioning us as a market leader in filtration products.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, including design verification and method validation.
  • Conduct sampling and analysis programs to maintain quality standards of chemical intermediates.
  • Operate experimental laboratory test equipment and follow procedures accurately.
  • Understand and follow instructions and specifications from engineers and other professionals.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Assist in creating new test procedures as necessary.
  • Select and set up required lab equipment for tests, experiments, and analyses.
  • Prepare chemical solutions and buffers.
  • Document test results per lab standards.
  • Maintain and follow proper storage procedures for lab supplies.
  • Service and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Keep the laboratory neat and clean, and sterilize all work surfaces and equipment.
  • Learn and understand the background of projects or tasks.
  • Work in an environment with a broad range of equipment and processes.
  • Support multiple projects and priorities in project teams.
  • Work in both team environments and independently.
  • Utilize the online request system for lab assignments and report submissions.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • AAS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of lab environment, safety practices, and cleanliness.
  • Strong analytical, observational, and time‑management skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to run physical tests.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience running tests and improving test methods.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Environment

The position is based on‑site with a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday. The lab environment may require movement between various labs depending on the task. The company has renovated its campus, offering amenities such as upgraded kitchen and lounge areas, a cafeteria, and outdoor spaces. Each contractor will be assigned their own desk.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
