About the Role: The Systems Engineer role is ideal for individuals looking to apply engineering fundamentals to real-world material handling challenges. This position focuses on developing customized layouts, drawings, and cost‑effective solutions that support sales initiatives and strengthen core project execution. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, suppliers, and customers to translate operational requirements into engineered concepts while supporting permitting, scheduling, and implementation efforts.
Regular local travel to customer sites for walk‑throughs, measurements, and solution reviews is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop warehouse storage, conveyor, and automation layouts using CAD.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Generate bills of material (BOM) and calculate accurate project costs.
- Support proposal creation and assist sales with technical details.
- Join sales on client visits to provide engineering insight and conduct site evaluations.
- Assist with permitting, scheduling, and overseeing installation activities.
- Analyze data and requirements to create tailored customer solutions.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; 3D modeling experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of conveyors, pallet racking, AS/RS, AGVs, and general warehouse systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Engineering degree (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, ideally in material handling.
- Willingness to travel locally; clean driving record required.
