Acre is excited to continue its support of a leading transmission operator by identifying a Senior Engineer/Advisor for their Energy Market and Operations Analytics division.
This person is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional data analysis across multiple time horizons and data domains pertaining to real-time market behavior, day-ahead market outcomes, price formation, congestion patterns, etc. Blending expertise in data analysis and power systems engineering, you will lead engineering analysis to identify anomalies, better understand operations and market behaviors, determine inefficiency root cause, and conceptualize solutions to improve the grid.
You will serve as the liaison responsible for improving market and operational performance, guiding communication between the market and system operations, strategy, and data & analytics teams.
- A B.S. in Electrical Engineering (MS or PhD in Power Systems Engineering preferred), computer engineering, or data science with 6-10+ years' experience in power systems engineering, simulation, modeling, energy markets, or system operations
- Direct experience leading real-time and day-ahead market analysis
- Experience with PROMOD, PSSE, Power
GEM, UPlan, Aurora or Plexos is a major asset. Python, SQL, Power
BI, and No-SQL Database experience (Oracle and MS Azure preferred). - In-depth knowledge of electricity market fundamentals and rules of RT/DA markets, capacity markets, FTR/ARR markets, and ancillary services markets.
- Intimate understanding of or experience working directly with a Utility, ISO/RTO preferred
This position is open to applicants with granted H1B visas requiring transfer; however, candidates must currently be located in the US and must be open to moving to Arkansas, Minnesota, or Indiana.
This position requires relocation.
