Local Geomatics Lead/Project Manager

WSP is searching for a Local Geomatics Lead/Project Manager to join our Midwest Region Geomatics Team in Minneapolis, MN. The role delivers surveying and geospatial solutions across Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy, and other sectors. Successful candidates will manage project delivery, support business development, mentor staff, and ensure technical quality and client satisfaction.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to office and field staff under senior management direction.
• Support team development through training and knowledge sharing.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, safety, and technical excellence.
• Maintain strong client relationships and represent WSP professionally.
• Assist in developing proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets; manage billing and account receivables.
• Support business development efforts and identify opportunities for growth.
• Manage geomatics projects (boundary and topographic surveys, LiDAR, UAS, GIS).
• Oversee production of plans and deliverables; perform QA/QC reviews.
• Leverage software and data processing systems to produce high‑quality deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, regulations, and QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate field crews and office staff to meet schedules and budgets.
• Maintain project tracking systems and manage survey equipment.
• Collaborate with internal departments and subconsultants.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds and resources; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in land surveying or an associated field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in land surveying and geospatial services.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Minnesota.
• Proven leadership, team‑building, and communication skills.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, staff, and equipment.
• Proficiency with CAD and survey data processing software.
• Strong knowledge of land survey principles, practices, and methods.
• Ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
• Willingness to learn and teach others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; detail oriented, organized, and responsive.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure or on high‑liability projects.
• Track record of upholding workplace safety and abiding by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

• Master’s Degree.
• Multiple PLS licenses in neighboring states.
• FAA Part 107, CP/CMS, GISP, or PMP certifications.
• Advanced knowledge or training in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation Open Roads Designer, Leica Infinity or Trimble Business Center, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience performing a variety of geomatics work in both field and office, especially in the Upper Midwest with public agencies and private organizations.
• Experience preparing estimates, proposals, and managing billing and receivables for projects.
• Existing client base.

Expected salary: $95,000 – $169,290 (US locations). Compensation may be adjusted based on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and other factors.
