Job Description Details

• Working with structural engineer of record to develop structural design solutions for portions of buildings and structures integrating project objectives and design criteria
• Prepare and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans
• Perform computer modeling and structural calculations for various type of buildings, structures, and products
• Deliver complete and accurate structural designs and prepare structural drawings and details on time and within design budget
• Coordinate with PM to deliver assignments within prescribed budgetary and time constraints
• Check work of others as assigned
• Interact and communicate effectively with design team members
• Understanding and ability to prepare basic design of structural steel, concrete, and masonry and wood components and framing systems
• Under general supervision, perform project activities
• Intermediate-level professional work designed to develop knowledge and abilities
• Performs a variety of technical tasks that provide experience and familiarization with engineering procedures and scientific methods, practices, standards and company programs
• Uses prescribed methods to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
• Lead the design of smaller projects under supervision of project manager
• May be assigned external communications with consultants and/or clients

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (MS degree preferred) in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
• Professional Registration: PE license or ability to obtain registration is required
• 5-10 years of experience
• Vast knowledge of structural design and computer analysis methods
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and procedures for structural design
• Working knowledge of design and analysis computer programs and tools related to structural design (RISA, RAM preferred or other engineering software; familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus)
• Familiarity with engineering standards specifications of the industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
