Special Education Coordinator (5 positions available)

Wayzata Public Schools

FTE 1.0 each. Starting date:
Fall 2026

Compensation Range: $52,308 - $123,452 (Depending on Education and Experience)

Position Description

The Special Education Coordinator serves as the essential strategic link between cohesive Special Education teams and building leadership, ensuring seamless operational and educational excellence. This high-impact role provides focused leadership in staff and student scheduling, paraprofessional deployment, and the comprehensive onboarding and mentoring of both licensed and support staff.

  • Facilitate Collaboration in Special Education Teams:
    Serve as the primary special education building contact for administration, staff and parents.
  • Coaching:

    Assist and support IEP teams in collecting data and designing interventions for program implementation.
  • Due Process:
    Assist teachers and administration in collaboration and problem-solving as it relates to special education.
  • Professional Development support

This position is a stretch calendar that is guided by the Stretch Calendar MOU.

Qualifications
  • Special Education Licensure required for working with students in Federal Setting 1-3.
  • Multiple licensure preferred.
  • Ability to design and implement specially designed instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students requiring special education services.
  • Experience and willingness to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers are required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
