Position SummaryWe are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly qualified Special Education Teachers to join our education team in the St. Paul area. Special Education Teachers support students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction, managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring each student receives equitable access to educational opportunities. These roles may be in self-contained classrooms, resource/consultative settings, co-teaching environments, or specialty focus areas (such as math, early childhood, or behavior support) depending on assignment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs, goals, and state/federal requirements.
- Provide specialized academic instruction in individual, small group, or co-taught settings using evidence-based strategies and differentiated curriculum.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student learning, accommodations, modifications, and inclusion.
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring, assessment, and documentation
, keeping records current and compliant with district and state standards. - Lead and participate in IEP meetings, eligibility evaluations, progress reporting, and due-process activities.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that fosters academic success, social-emotional growth, and positive behavior.
- Use assistive technology and specialized instructional tools to support student access to curriculum.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families and professional teams regarding student progress and supports.
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school-wide activities as required.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (appropriate tier and endorsements).
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices (IDEA, state policy, due process).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse staff and families.
- Experience working with students across disability categories (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, EBD, cognitive impairments).
- Experience implementing behavior intervention strategies and collaborative teaching approaches.
- Prior experience in public or charter school settings.
- Full-time position with a student-focused schedule aligned with the academic calendar.
- Classroom and school-based environment; may include co-teaching in general education spaces.
- Some roles may require supporting behavior needs and implementing safety protocols.
Compensation varies by district, experience, and licensure level and is competitive for the St. Paul metro area. Pay is weekly.
