Position SummaryThe Galaxy Site Lead is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and daily operation of the Galaxy summer program site. This role ensures a safe, organized, and engaging experience for participants by overseeing staff, daily logistics, student support, and family communication. The Site Lead works closely with the Activity Lead and provides direction and support to Activities Assistants to ensure high-quality programming and smooth day-to-day operations.
RequiredExperience / Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post‑secondary education preferred
- Experience working with school‑age or middle school youth in a school, camp, recreation, or youth development setting
- Previous experience supervising staff or leading youth programming
- Experience coordinating daily program operations, schedules, and logistics
- Experience collaborating with families, school staff, and community partners
- Experience using Eleyo to manage rosters, participant information, registration details, and daily program operations
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and respond calmly in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience supporting student behavior and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment
- Basic computer skills, including email communication, attendance tracking, and documentation
- Lead the daily operation and supervision of the Galaxy program site
- Partner with the Activity Lead to support engaging, age‑appropriate programming
- Supervise and support Activities Assistants
- Oversee daily logistics, transitions, attendance, and site readiness
- Use Eleyo to manage rosters, participant information, and daily program operations
- Support positive student behavior and respond to incidents appropriately
- Communicate with families, staff, and community partners as needed
- Ensure program spaces, materials, and supplies are organized and ready for use
- Complete required documentation, including attendance and incident reports
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and planning sessions
- Represent Galaxy / Bloomington Community Education professionally throughout the program
- Complete other duties as assigned by Bloomington Community Education leadership
