The mission of the CIS Student Ambassador is to boost student success and catalyze personal transformation for all students in the College of Individualized Studies. We accomplish this work by building the community we envision.

What CIS Student Ambassadors do
  • Engage with CIS students, alumni, advisors and faculty to promote positive, inclusive and supportive learning environments (i.e., community and belonging).
  • Assist in developing workshops and other forms of programming that foster CIS student success (e.g., design and complete high-quality degrees, career exploration, and lifelong learning) and move learning beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
  • Leverage Metro State University’s existing leadership training, academic success, and mental health and wellness resources to educate CIS students about the importance of social connection to success in work, school, and life.
  • Support CIS in other tasks needed.

Qualifications and experience

Students in the College of Individualized Studies of varying identities from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.

Ideally, student ambassadors...

  • Recently completed PRSP 301 (e.g., passed course and approved degree plan), or are currently enrolled;
  • Are enrolled in PRSP 499 (e.g., final semester).
