About the Job
Job Description
The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota is looking for a lecturer to teach one introductory physics course and carry out other teaching duties, including discussion sections and laboratories.
This position will be responsible for the following duties.
Be the primary instructor for PHYS
1102W, the second semester of algebra-based introductory physics. For this part of the appointment, the duties are:
40% Lectures and preparation, in accordance with departmental instructional guidelines.
Administration of class (through Canvas) and communication with students
Preparation of syllabus, quizzes, tests, homework
Supervision of teaching assistant.
15% Responsibility for administration of one or more discussion sections of honors introductory physics.
40% Responsibility for an additional discussion section and/or laboratory for an introductory class as required.
5% Other duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $25,376 - $31,720 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
