Men's & Women's Swimming Graduate Assistant

This role includes recruiting, leadership, administrative, communication, writing, and coaching components.

• Sourcing and recruiting prospective student athletes that meet NCC admission requirements
• Scheduling on‑campus visits in conjunction with the admissions department
• Event planning for home competition and alumni events
• Writing and directing practices
• Planning team meals and transportation to and from competitions
• Assisting in administrative duties such as meet entry
• Building positive relationships with current team members to motivate and encourage effective training strategies
• Assisting with follow‑up of donors and alums
• Other duties as assigned

• Required:
  • Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College
  • Swim team experience – either as a swimmer or coach – or athletic administrative experience
  • Current CPR / AED and First Aid certification, or eligibility to become current
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
  • Able and willing to travel as needed, including nights and weekends
• Preferred:
  • Experience in college athletics strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred

Approximate number of work hours per week: 20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks.
