Men's & Women's Swimming Graduate Assistant
This role includes recruiting, leadership, administrative, communication, writing, and coaching components.
Essential Functions- Sourcing and recruiting prospective student athletes that meet NCC admission requirements
- Scheduling on‑campus visits in conjunction with the admissions department
- Event planning for home competition and alumni events
- Writing and directing practices
- Planning team meals and transportation to and from competitions
- Assisting in administrative duties such as meet entry
- Building positive relationships with current team members to motivate and encourage effective training strategies
- Assisting with follow‑up of donors and alums
- Other duties as assigned
- Required:
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College
- Swim team experience – either as a swimmer or coach – or athletic administrative experience
- Current CPR / AED and First Aid certification, or eligibility to become current
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
- Able and willing to travel as needed, including nights and weekends
- Preferred:
- Experience in college athletics strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record strongly preferred
Approximate number of work hours per week: 20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks.
