The Assistant to the Chairperson of the Shimer Great Books School helps maintain the smooth functioning of the School’s day‑today operations, particularly through maintaining non‑sensitive records and other office duties; manages the School’s social media accounts and other promotional materials; develops and runs events on behalf of the School’s students, alumni and prospective students; liaises with the Department of Admissions on events for prospective students;
and maintains the School’s social spaces.
- Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College
- The student must be responsible, dependable, and willing to work
- The student must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The student must be punctual
- Previous social media experience is desirable
- Applicants must provide reference contact information from a Shimer Great Books Program faculty member
- Preference will be given to students in the Shimer Great Books Program
