Our programs focus on natural supports, experiential learning, education, and a therapeutic approach with expertise in trauma‑effective care.
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour;
Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST); FWS sponsors a retirement plan with 3% employer match and immediate vesting.
This position is in‑person and part‑time (20 hours per week). The hours of childcare are 7am-6pm so flexibility in scheduling is needed.
A Typical Day in the Life...A typical day as Family Wise's Childcare Aide provides an opportunity to support the teaching staff in providing top quality care and education for children who are enrolled in our program. Responsibilities include the following:
- Adhering to and upholding Rule 3 licensing rules and regulations at all times.
- Assisting the teacher in creating weekly/bi‑weekly lesson plans in accordance with the Creative Curriculum.
- Assisting in providing developmentally appropriate and stimulating activities, both indoor and outdoor.
- Keeping up to date with Rule 3 licensing required trainings (CPR/First Aid, SIDS/AHT, as well as curriculum/assessment training).
- Working closely with families to encourage cooperation.
- Assisting with diapering, toileting, mealtime procedures, cleaning duties, and room arrangements.
- Maintaining bulletin boards.
- Cleaning and sanitizing cots, toys, tables, etc.
- You have previous experience working with children.
- You have knowledge and experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations in lower socio‑economic conditions.
- It is preferable if you are able to speak multiple languages.
- You have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- You understand the importance of customer service.
- You demonstrate skills in conflict management.
- You are computer literate with skills in MS Office.
- You have the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co‑workers.
- You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You use good judgment in recognizing the scope of your role.
