We are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Quality Control Leader / Specification Writer to join the HTG Team at our Hopkins, MN office. This position requires leveraging extensive technical expertise, a commitment to mentoring junior staff, and providing technical support throughout all project phases. The candidate will primarily work in the office to maximize teaching opportunities and ensure accessibility to staff.
Occasional regional travel within Minnesota, as well as to North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, may be necessary. Additional national or regional travel may be required as new projects arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide technical guidance to teach and mentor architectural production staff.
- Collaborate with design team members and lead creation of Architectural Technical Specifications and Project Manuals.
- Conduct research and coordinate meetings with materials and product sales representatives to maintain the office’s master specifications.
- Assist project teams with focused design solutions, including building envelope and technical detailing.
- Conduct detailed and analytical quality control reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, zoning laws, and industry standards.
- Participate in construction administration, including reviewing submittals, attending meetings, and providing on-site observations and documentation.
- Assist with building envelope consulting services including reporting and documenting site observations.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in architectural design, construction management, or related field.
- Excellent at problem solving and critical thinking.
- Collaborative professional with the ability to contribute effectively to multiple teams and projects concurrently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication with both team members and clients in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Proficiency using Bluebeam and Bluebeam Studio for project team documentation and coordination.
- Sound technical knowledge of detailing concepts and building assemblies, including building envelope detailing.
- Possesses on-site field construction administration experience on at least twenty (20) commercial projects with construction costs exceeding $3 million.
- Previous experience in Financial, Dental or Recreational Facilities, such as ice arenas and multi-purpose sport court recreation centers is a plus.
- Familiarity in writing project specifications in BSD Spec Link Cloud.
