SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent in our Power Delivery Group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This individual will have the aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively problem-solve and bring together viable solutions.
The Superintendent will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
- Plan and implement to ensure all concrete materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
- Navigate through 3D models as a building tool and convey to 3D Modelers how elements should be modeled to improve the building process
- Understand the required sizing of pours from both a spec requirement and a labor approach
- Review and understand contract documents
- Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies
- Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules
- Develop a site logistics plan
- Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment
- Collaborate with project partner superintendents
- Conduct on-site project orientations and effective pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings
- Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews
- Mentor, manage, and evaluate Assistant Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen
- Interview, hire, transfer, and, if needed, terminate craft team members
- Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards
- Manage and track work progress and craft productivity
- Ensure craft team member training is current prior to starting tasks
- Conduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team members
- Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
- Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience
- Minimum ten years construction experience
- Minimum five years' experience as a Concrete Foreman, preferably in the energy industry
- Experience with foundation for energy infrastructure projects (solar, substation, etc.)
- Directed large concrete crews (over 50 craft workers)
- Proven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Current driver's license
- Familiar with various forming systems and can evaluate and select based on the element being constructed
- Understanding of the required sizing of pours from both a spec requirement and a labor approach
- Understanding of labor tracking
- Current driver's license

The base pay range for this role is $108,600 MIN - $162,900 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C.
