Teacher's Aide - Afternoon Support
Maple Grove, MN
Salary: $13 to $15 an hour (starting pay range). This range is subject to adjustment for other geographic work locations. Additional compensation and benefits are based on eligibility, including medical and dental insurance, life insurance, and career development.
The purpose of the Teacher’s Aide is to support the other Teachers in providing a nurturing, positive, and engaging learning environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills for lifelong success. Working collaboratively and flexibly, Teacher’s Aides play a vital role in fostering social-emotional growth, encouraging curiosity, and supporting consistent daily routines. What You’ll Do- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with Minnesota’s early learning standards.
- Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.
- Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
- Assist in observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
- Support positive behavior guidance strategies.
- Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Director.
- Help provide updates using the center’s communication platform regarding children’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.
- Must meet the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Teacher’s Aide qualification requirements.
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 65 lbs, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring physical intervention.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
- Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
