This is a full‑time, exempt position.
OverviewADM Fertilizer is seeking an experienced, senior‑level Key Account Manager to own and grow ADM's strategic national accounts in the Northern Plains. This high‑impact role focuses on rapidly winning back lost business and capturing wallet share from sophisticated buyers currently sourcing from competitors. The ideal candidate will hit the ground running, develop and execute aggressive growth strategies, manage key assets, and deliver results in a competitive, fast‑paced agricultural commodity environment.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new and regained sales volumes with strategic national buyers who are not currently purchasing from ADM, targeting aggressive fertilizer sales goals.
- Own full account management for top‑tier customers, including strategy development to increase wallet share, contract/logistics coordination, A/R oversight, position management, and comprehensive support to make ADM their preferred supplier.
- Manage ADM’s largest unit train warehouse and related terminal/asset operations.
- Develop and execute sales growth plans in assigned territories, including new market penetration.
- Provide market leadership by educating internal stakeholders and leadership on fertilizer/commodity trends and applications in the crop input space.
- Champion change initiatives and new product offerings.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with accounting, administrative, logistics, and leadership teams.
- Collect competitive intelligence, analyze account performance, and provide input to enhance ADM's fertilizer and broader capabilities.
- Travel 15‑20% within the Northern Plains territory.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, or equivalent, plus 10+ years of proven sales experience in the agricultural sector (fertilizer/crop inputs preferred).
- Demonstrated success securing and growing sales with sophisticated, strategic buyers in highly competitive environments, including winning business from competitors.
- Expert‑level knowledge of commodity trading, fertilizer markets, production agriculture, and crop input applications.
- Proven track record managing risk, optimizing value chains, and achieving aggressive targets in dynamic markets.
- Prior terminal/asset management experience (e.g., unit train warehouses).
- KPI‑driven with a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and ability to operate independently.
- Superior analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills to thrive in a rapidly changing industry.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
