Overview

We are seeking an experienced CAPEX Procurement Lead to support capital project procurement activities within a global manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end procurement execution for capital projects, partnering closely with engineering, project management, and global procurement teams to ensure sourcing activities are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing complex sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and procurement governance within large CAPEX programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Procurement Lead supporting CAPEX projects from initiation through project close‑out
  • Partner with global and site procurement teams to align sourcing strategies and priorities
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to define procurement requirements and timelines
  • Ensure procurement activities align with corporate procurement policies, category strategies, and compliance standards
  • Establish strong working relationships across project and operational functions
  • Prepare and manage sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bidding processes
  • Develop tender documentation, pricing templates, bid instructions, and draft agreements
  • Execute sourcing events using Ariba eSourcing or equivalent platforms
  • Identify qualified suppliers and manage supplier communication throughout procurement cycles
  • Develop evaluation matrices and lead technical and commercial bid evaluations
  • Develop negotiation strategies in collaboration with procurement and project stakeholders
  • Lead supplier negotiations with support from subject matter experts
  • Manage supplier selection recommendations and award processes
  • Oversee contract development, execution, and signature processes
  • Ensure purchase requests and purchase orders are approved and confirmed with suppliers
Procurement Planning & Tracking
  • Maintain procurement planning and tracking tools aligned with project milestones
  • Review existing contracts and establish new master service agreements as required
  • Manage confidentiality agreements and supplier onboarding documentation
  • Track procurement progress, savings realization, and KPI performance
Systems, Compliance & Reporting
  • Utilize procurement and financial systems including Coupa, Ariba, and Axxerion (or similar platforms)
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policy, contracting standards, and CAPEX governance processes
  • Support funding request planning and procurement forecasting activities
  • Provide weekly and monthly procurement status reporting to project leadership
  • Maintain accurate document management and procurement records
Project Close‑Out
  • Support contract close‑out activities and final supplier performance reviews
  • Coordinate final payments and contract completion activities
  • Capture lessons learned and support operational handover of equipment and documentation
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting CAPEX procurement or capital project sourcing within manufacturing, pharma, biotech, or industrial environments
  • Strong background managing competitive sourcing events and supplier negotiations
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering and project management teams
  • Knowledge of procurement policies, contracting processes, and sourcing best practices
  • Experience with procurement systems such as Ariba, Coupa, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement work streams simultaneously in a fast‑paced project environment
Preferred Experience
  • Global or multi‑site procurement exposure
  • Experience supporting large capital programs or shutdown projects
  • Familiarity with EHS and site compliance requirements
  • Savings tracking and procurement KPI reporting experience
