the Role
Within the Law Department, the Operations Contract & Strategy team partners with the business to negotiate and draft contracts that enable our global supply chain, technology, financial products and services, procurement, and other key operational initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional business partners and legal colleagues on a broad range of matters supporting the procurement of goods and services essential to our stores, supply chain, and headquarters operations.

Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
About You- J.D. degree from an accredited law school; admitted or eligible for admission to the Minnesota bar
- 4+ years of legal experience in a law firm or in‑house capacity with experience drafting and negotiating contracts; technology contracts experience preferred
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excited about learning about new business priorities and programs
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to distill complex or ambiguous issues into concise and actionable advice
- Demonstrated ability to strike a balance between risks and business goals
- Highly organized, with the ability to adapt, prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks or projects in response to changing or competing priorities
- Ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Ability to develop effective written and verbal communications and presentations for all levels of leadership
- Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers to allocate work and respond to business needs
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
