Responsibilities- Meet or exceed volume, revenue and margin targets for the territory by defending and growing existing business while identifying new opportunities.
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan for potential customer accounts to build relationships with decision makers and enable effective two-way flow of information.
- Develop a personal network within the sales territory and represent the organization at trade shows and events to identify sales opportunities.
- Use expertise to identify complex standard products and/or services that meet customer needs, present them with a clear rationale, and gain agreement at standard commercial terms.
- Negotiate and execute multi-year supply agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Acquire spent catalysts: identify decision makers and units, maintain unit database, and negotiate acquisition offers.
- Collaborate internally and work as the customer champion in cross-functional teams to build strong external customer relationships.
- Enter customer information gathered through research or direct contact into MS Dynamics 365 to ensure high-quality data for retention and business development activities.
- Meet sales KPI regarding contact reports, opportunity pipeline, forecast accuracy, and over dues.
- A technical undergraduate degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years experience in sales of highly technical products and services, ideally in a multinational environment; prior catalyst sales experience is not required but would be a plus.
- Works without supervision and provides technical guidance and novel concepts for a wide range of topics when required.
- 3-8 years successfully managing customer relationships preferred.
- Demonstrated ability for solution-based sales approaches and leveraging internal teams to deliver sales.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams (without direct reports) to achieve agreed objectives.
- Able to plan, organize, prioritize and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to network at a range of levels within target organization, up to senior management.
- Proven ability to handle complexity across functions and management levels within Evonik and the customer organization.
- Ability to propose solutions and novel concepts for commercial issues, recognizing opportunities for product development or other technical solutions.
Pay range: $91,900 – $166,500
