What is the opportunity?
The Director, Business Initiatives is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic and operational agenda of Business Administration. This position partners closely with the Head of Business Administration to translate organizational priorities into disciplined execution across critical functions, including planning cycles, onboarding, executive meetings, and cross‑functional projects. As a central integrator, this role ensures alignment, accountability, and seamless delivery of initiatives that advance RBC’s strategic objectives.
Job Description What will you do?- Lead end‑to‑end planning, coordination, and execution of high‑impact strategic and operational cross‑functional initiatives.
- Translate leadership priorities into actionable workplans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Own the PAR process for Business Administration, ensuring alignment with leadership goals.
- Own onboarding strategy for new employees. Address and resolve current pain points and process failures. Collaborate with HR, IT, Leadership, and Functional partners.
- Identify and resolve systemic onboarding issues (e.g., delayed access, incomplete documentation, role ambiguity) through process reengineering and stakeholder alignment.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage leadership and corporate meetings, including agenda development, briefing materials, and post‑meeting follow‑up to ensure accountability and decision execution.
- Ensure clear decision capture, action tracking and accountability post‑meeting. Drive meeting discipline, cadence and prioritization aligned to leadership objectives.
- Establish and own a disciplined, end‑to‑end project management and operational execution framework including scoping, prioritization, timelines, risk management, reporting and delivery.
- Serve as central integrator and trusted partner to senior leaders, functional teams and enterprise stakeholders by aligning priorities, clarifying ownership, influencing outcomes without formal authority and ensuring consistent communication and follow‑through.
- Manage mail, courier, and shipping services, including oversight of mailroom operations.
- Serve as the Gateway Building Business Lead, managing all business‑related needs and incident resolution.
- Act as the Internal Business Administration Liaison for escalations related to Accounts Payable (AP), Concur, Coupa, and Purchasing Card Audits.
- Conduct DOA (Delegation of Authority) Audits to ensure compliance with policies.
- Own Business Administration polices, review and approval processes.
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in business administration, operations, program management, or strategy, with a proven track record of process transformation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in redesigning complex processes (e.g., onboarding) in matrixed organizations.
- Experience in financial services or wealth management is preferred.
- Experience with large‑enterprise governance, planning and performance management frameworks.
- Advanced project and program management skills.
- Limited travel may be required (0‑20%).

The expected salary range for this particular position is $140,000‑$230,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
