Your Opportunity as the Analyst, Category Leadership - Target
In this role, you will support our category team relationship with Target by presenting key insights and effective category plans to Target through ongoing engagement and collaboration.
Location: Edina, MN
Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month, primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; may be more as business needs require
In This Role You WillTranslate Insights into Growth Strategies
- Develop and deliver weekly sales reports to the buyer.
- Convert sales trends and shopper insights into compelling category growth stories and initiatives.
Support Planogram Design and Execution
- Work cross-functionally to execute planogram design and execution.
- Uncover customer insights to shape merchandising strategies.
- Collaborate with the category team to design effective reset strategies.
Deliver Category Leadership Excellence
- Assist in developing and activating customer-specific Category Leadership Plans
- Identify opportunities and create solutions for item distribution, promotion, pricing, and shelf placement.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive marketplace.
- Communicate insights and learnings to focus audiences.
- Actively participate in retailer calls.
Drive Continuous Learning and Development
- Conduct market visits, including shopper insights, retail audits, account calls, and business planning sessions.
- Participate in training activities to enhance performance and personal growth.
- Complete all required information and technology training.

Minimum RequirementsWhat we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proven ability to analyze sales reports for CPG companies, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel
- Strong computer and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-Starter, ability to prioritize workload
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):
- 1+ years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG)
- Shelving software experience (e.g., JDA/Space Planning or Pro Space)
- Familiarity with customer POS and shopper data
- Strong proficiency in syndicated sales data tools (IRI or Circana highly preferred)
- Experience with data visualization software
