Overview
We are representing a middle-market Investment Bank as they look to hire a Business Development Associate to support their Corporate Finance function out of Minneapolis. This role focuses on supporting referral partner relationships and direct company outreach efforts. The associate works closely with the Corporate Finance leadership team and other internal stakeholders to execute targeted marketing strategies and business development activities.
Responsibilities- Business Development & Relationship Support
- Support the management and growth of internal and external referral relationships
- Assist with the development of new referral partner relationships
- Create introductory and marketing content (e.g., presentation decks, emails)
- Track prospects and prepare initial outreach and introductory materials
- Coordinate transitions from business development to execution teams
- Complete required workflows related to new prospects and clients, including:
- Business development tracking
- Preliminary due diligence support
- Data room setup and document organization
- Marketing collateral preparation
- Engagement and confidentiality documentation
- Maintain and update project tracking reports and prepare regular status summaries
- Participate in calls or meetings as needed; document discussions and follow up on action items
- Draft client presentations, proposals, and engagement letters
- Organize and maintain client and prospect documentation and folders
- Maintain prospect and client information in internal databases and tracking reports
- Assist with the development of marketing materials
- Support conference and event preparation, including speaker materials and meeting logistics
- Coordinate calendars related to business development and marketing activities
- Schedule and manage internal and external meetings, including video and conference calls
- Provide ad hoc support for business development and marketing initiatives as needed
- Experience supporting business development activities with clients and/or referral partners (e.g., accounting, legal, or advisory professionals)
- Prior experience in a professional services environment (e.g., investment banking, accounting, law, consulting, or wealth management)
- Bachelor s degree in marketing, finance, accounting, or a related field with a strong academic record
- Professional demeanor with a strong service orientation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project and time management capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, collaboration tools)
- Willingness to adapt work hours during peak business periods
- Primarily in-office role with occasional travel for conferences or events
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
