Actively involved in the development and maintenance of the assigned technology assets or products. Work with business leaders/technology partners to create the product road map and manage any product changes through the development, user acceptance testing and implementation processes. Responsible for managing the end-to-end user experience for the assigned technology asset or product. On behalf of the business will play a subject matter expert role and represent the interests of the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesMajor areas of accountability:
- Coordinate the collection, description, analysis and prioritization of requests for new product functionality. Work with key stakeholders to develop, elaborate and clarify requirements, their impact and the real, underlying business need. Produce detailed documentation of business requirements. Work with a cross‑functional team to ensure fulfillment of product requirements and evaluate product performance. Identify compelling opportunities for improvement and competitive differentiation.
- Lead product design, development and release processes for assigned technology products and maintain product development road map, ensure alignment with the capability strategy. Act as a technical consultant to the business and lead research and prototyping efforts of innovative technologies and products. Lead complex product road mapping and design activities that require extensive research and analysis to guide the application development process.
Drive release planning and monitoring efforts. - Understand usage and satisfaction baseline, set goals and regularly measure and report applicable statistics. Enable the business processes by understanding user needs and how the tools are integrated into the daily practice/processes. Participate in the creation of detailed use cases that effectively validate user requirements. Participate in user acceptance and beta testing of new products and features. Document and report problems and recommend solutions/improvements.
- Develop hands‑on, in‑depth knowledge of internal and external competitive products and maintain technical analysis of product strengths and weaknesses. Effectively represent and drive business priorities and strategy as decisions are being made about the product road map. Provide input into the capital expenditures related to assigned assets or products. Prioritize defects and work closely with the development team to deliver high‑quality products.
- Partner with implementation and communication teams to formulate strategies that ensure effective roll‑out and adoption of application changes and at the same time minimize disruption to advisors and staff. Develop effective partnerships with key vendors, technology domain owners, business stakeholders and capability business architects to ensure that release timelines and deliverables are met. Develop key connections with end user community to understand product usage at a deep level.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent (4‑years) in Business, Computer Science or related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience required.
- 3+ years experience working in a product management role.
- Proven success implementing product development projects that deliver results and provide value to the business.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage working relationships with both technical and business professionals.
- Strong problem‑solving skills; highly effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
- Deep understanding of product management principles and key functions.
- Certifications Preferred: CPM, ACPM
- Conceptual mind set and the ability to effectively balance short and long‑term objectives.
