Base pay range

$78,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Overview

A Senior Buyer is responsible for more advanced procurement activities, including negotiating with suppliers and managing key relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes and the ability to ensure cost‑effective sourcing while maintaining quality and delivery timelines. The Buyer III plays an important role in supporting production and operations and is expected to uphold Johnson Screens' values of integrity, collaboration, and results.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement efforts for complex or high‑value categories of materials, components, and services.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage long‑term supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Analyze market trends and supply base to identify sourcing opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to define specifications and sourcing strategies.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Resolve high‑level issues related to delivery, quality, or contractual terms.
  • Ensure procurement practices comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage procurement records, ensuring accuracy in order details, supplier agreements, and pricing.
  • Creating purchase orders (POs) and processing them through procurement systems.
  • Ensuring purchased goods meet quality, quantity, and delivery standards.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Managing stock levels to ensure adequate supplies while avoiding overstocking.
  • Monitoring lead times and planning purchases to minimize stockouts.
  • Coordinating with inventory and warehouse teams to align purchasing with inventory needs.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure that material and service needs align with production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Ensuring all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
Preferred Skills
  • Global Purchasing experience.
  • Experience facilitating cross‑functional projects.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain, with a focus on strategic sourcing and contract management.
  • CPM, CPSM, or APICS certification preferred.
  • Proficient with SAP procurement modules.
  • Advanced Excel user.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or a related role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of procurement best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
