Overview
The Legal Assistant provides administrative and operational support to attorneys and legal staff within a professional services environment. This role supports day to day workflow, document management, and client-related processes while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Support attorneys and legal professionals with administrative and clerical tasks
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments
- Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence and legal documents
- Organize and maintain electronic files, including consistent email and document filing
- Assist with document processing, tracking, and record upkeep
- Support billing and expense-related activities, including invoice review and submissions
- Assist with client onboarding, engagement materials, and conflict checks
- Coordinate travel arrangements and meeting logistics as needed
- Track professional compliance items such as licenses, renewals, and continuing education
Skills and Abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities
- Able to work independently while supporting a team environment
- Minimum three years of experience in a legal or administrative support role
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent proofreading and document formatting abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment
- Prior experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or professional services setting
- Limited exposure to intellectual property or patent-related matters is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with document management or timekeeping systems
- Experience working with legal software platforms such as iManage or similar
