Senior Accountant

About The Opportunity

Our client is a well‑established, privately held organization with a long history of operational excellence and steady growth across the Midwest. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their collaborative accounting team.

Bloomington

$80,000–$90,000

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
• Manage and support cash activity, including banking transactions and reconciliations
• Apply GAAP to routine and moderately complex transactions (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, etc.)
• Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner cross‑functionally with operations and business leaders
• Support internal and external audits

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands‑on general ledger and month‑end close experience
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• CPA (or pursuing) a plus
