The Staff Accountant supports monthly accounting and close activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role performs daily accounting operations, maintains the integrity of financial data, and ensures adherence to U.S. GAAP while supporting internal controls, audits, and continuous process improvement.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities- Prepare month-end general ledger journal entries and perform balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Execute month-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial results and timely completion of all reporting requirements.
- Prepare, analyze, and support external audit schedules and financial reporting deliverables.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and variances, providing clear explanations and financial analysis.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, including documentation and internal control procedures.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc financial reporting packages as assigned.
- Perform recurring daily and weekly accounting tasks as directed by management.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and business information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Excellent time-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to work independently and provide thoughtful input on accounting matters.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience; manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, and reporting processes.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus.
