Compensation$165,000 base + equity
About the RoleWe are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a growing manufacturing organization with government contracts. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands‑on accounting professional who enjoys owning the close process, strengthening financial controls, and supporting compliance in a regulated environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in US GAAP and experience supporting government contract accounting who wants visibility, ownership, and long‑term growth.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage the month‑end close process
- Oversee general ledger accuracy and balance sheet integrity
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Partner with external auditors and manage annual audit process
- Support accounting activities related to government contracts
- Assist with indirect rate monitoring and cost allocations
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and federal cost principles
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation
- Support regulatory reviews and incurred cost submissions
- Research and apply US GAAP to accounting matters
- Support documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Strengthen internal controls and reporting processes
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations and leadership
- Deliver financial insights to support business decisions
- Active CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing or government contracting environment preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Familiarity with FAR, CAS, or federal cost principles is a plus
- ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar preferred)
- Ability to work independently in a growing organization
- High integrity and strong attention to detail
