Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, with a focus on Workday billing and general accounting tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization in the printing and publishing industry.

Responsibilities:

- Process billing transactions and oversee Workday accounting operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Perform account reconciliations, address discrepancies, and attach required supporting documents.

- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.

- Prepare and maintain adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial records.

- Assist in audit preparation by providing account analyses, schedules, and reconciliations.

- Analyze general ledger accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies or issues.

- Collaborate with team members to enhance accounting processes and meet financial reporting standards.

- Manage ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by management to support departmental goals. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 1-3 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in Workday.

- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Demonstrated experience with reconciliations and documentation using Blackline.

- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with general ledger systems.

- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
