* About the role:

** CLA is looking to hire a
** Controller
* * with
** Construction Industry
** experience, for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services (
** CAAS**) practice, based in
** Minneapolis, MN**. As a Controller, you will help our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.
** Role Responsibilities…
*** Assist the accounting team to record complex transactions.
* Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team.
* Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
* Adhere to the client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
* Provide detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements and required work papers.
* Prepare work papers for the independent auditors, if applicable
* Analyze and interpret financial information and regularly present to the client’s leadership.
* Develop budgets, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Review payroll and payroll tax compliance.

* What you will need:

* Education:

*** Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
* **
* Experience:

*** 6 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required.
* Accounting back-office experience is required.
* Relevant experience in the Construction industry is highly preferred! Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
* Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems. Quick Books experience is preferred.
* Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
* *** Travel:
*** This position works primarily in-office and requires frequent local travel to/from client sites. It may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes
