Intern- Engineering

Position Summary

Assist in location engineering activities that support design or process improvement of the business unit. Be a driving force for continuous improvement for the facility while working with all levels of the organization. Interns will be provided with training and mentorship that will translate to real-world skills and experiences. 20-40 hours per week.

Responsible for the assistance of determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations to drive the reduction of non-value-added activity and support improved process flow through improved design of equipment and methods.

• Evaluate existing processes and configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety and sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process
• Ensure plant is actively engaged in continuous improvement activities and driving sustainable results
• Acquire knowledge of various engineering department operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow
• Perform other related responsibilities

• Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
• Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• At minimum, an undergraduate engineering student entering junior year
• Ability to work MS Office; CAD (Solid Works) experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently
• Blueprint reading and technical report writing
• Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Understanding of lean methodologies and continuous improvement
