Job AdvertCalling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Minehead. As a Support Worker, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. You’ll support and lone‑work with six people in the service.
Everyone enjoys holidays, going to the theatre, cinema, day trips, and community outings. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays you’ll provide driving support to a person with disability care to Taunton, and once a week you’ll assist a person to a hydro pool. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
Important information for applicants: this position is not suitable for anyone looking to obtain or switch a Skilled Worker Visa, as it does not meet the minimum salary threshold required to be sponsored by UKVI. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Benefits include an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £63.70.

- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- This role requires you to be a driver.
- Full‑time: 37.5 hrs
- Part‑time: flexible hours based on availability
- Days:
Between 07:00‑22:00 - Sleep‑ins: 22:00‑07:00
