Position Summary

Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing high quality products and exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. All employees are expected to promote a culture of safety by following safety procedures, protocols and guidelines to minimize risk of damage to property and injury.

Essential Job Functions

The essential functions require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and identifying additional tasks when time permits:

  • Perform machinist duties in a fast-paced environment using standard procedures, tools, materials, machines and equipment; meet production expectations and deadlines.
  • Follow guidance from process instructions, blueprints, and communicated instructions. Make complex measurements and perform advanced shop math calculations.
  • Implement the Quality Policy and Procedures; inspect parts and products to detect potential defects and quality deficiencies using observations and inspection tools.
  • Operate machines including set-ups to tight tolerances and perform one-step operations; make simple machine adjustments as directed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members in meetings to improve department strategies; participate in safety activities as directed.
  • Mentor less experienced machinists on processes, time management, quality and safety; train others as directed and support professional development objectives.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to meet goals, including rotating through machining stations, updating training manuals, providing CNC programming support, and first-article checks on difficult production runs.
  • Operate and set up multiple machines and assist engineers with troubleshooting and testing as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with all employees, customers, vendors and visitors; contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education And/Or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Four years of machining experience required.
  • Classes in blueprint reading, gauge reading and shop math preferred.
