Position Summary

Working independently and collaboratively with others, this role plays an integral part in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to high‑quality products and exceptional customer service. Employees are expected to uphold safety, integrity, and ethical standards, minimizing risk to property and personnel.

Under general supervision, the machinist operates and sets up a variety of machine tools—mills, lathes, CNC machines, and similar equipment—to achieve extremely close and complex tolerances. Fabrication of component parts involves non‑routine set‑ups and challenging tolerance requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform machinist duties using standard procedures, tools, materials, machines and equipment in a fast‑paced environment while meeting all established production expectations and deadlines.
  • Follow well‑established guidance from process instructions, blueprints and communications from other team members, performing complex measurements and advanced shop‑math calculations.
  • Apply the Quality Policy and Procedures in all duties, evaluating unusual vs. ideal quality through finished product sound, vibration, temperature, operation and appearance. Inspect parts while using portable and calibrated measurement devices.
  • Operate machines, load and tend runs of parts, perform set‑ups to very close tolerances, and run one or more machines as directed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members during meetings, system reviews, and safety discussions to improve department strategies and exceed quality objectives.
  • Mentor less experienced or new machinists on machining processes, time management, quality expectations, and safe work habits. Provide training and guidance as directed.
  • Complete special and “first‑time” projects such as rotating through stations, writing or updating training manuals, assisting with CNC programming, and performing first‑article checks on difficult production runs.
  • Operate and set up multiple machines and cells proficiently, assisting engineers with troubleshooting and testing parts as needed.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with all employees, customers, vendors, and visitors, contributing to a positive work group through active listening and constructive collaboration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Four years’ machining experience required.
  • Classes in blueprint reading, gauge reading, and shop math preferred.
