Position Purpose

The Transportation Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of product shipments from production to the end-user. Here are some of their key responsibilities: planning and supervising shipments, scheduling routes, tracking orders, coordinating, monitoring transportation costs, ensuring compliance, maintaining records. Transportation Managers play a crucial role in the supply chain, ensuring that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Ensure that shipments are handled efficiently, safely, and within budget.
  • Organize daily and weekly routes for transportation vehicles.
  • Use systems like barcodes and tracking software to monitor shipments.
  • Ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
  • Keep track of expenses to stay within budget.
  • Make sure all shipments comply with legal regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transportation activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
Required Qualifications

Required

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Transportation.

Work Experience:

  • 5‑7 years related experience.
  • 6 months - 1 year supervisory or management experience.
Further Qualifications
  • Several years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to coordinate complex logistics and plan routes effectively.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and tracking systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly address and resolve transportation issues.
  • Understanding of legal regulations and safety requirements.
