Position: 1st Shift Shipper/CDL Driver Responsibilities

Receives and ships incoming and outgoing product and delivers product to appropriate areas with minimal direction. Drives and operates a CDL required vehicle to transport products between locations and deliver to customers.

  • Move material/pallets manually or with a forklift.
  • Load daily outgoing product on common carriers.
  • Verify all product unloaded/loaded for count accuracy and good quality.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Assist other shipper/receivers when needed.
  • Perform 6S activities.
  • Work as a team member and on your own.
  • Load various types of trucks.
  • Operate a variety of forklifts safely in a fast paced, congestive environment.
  • Comprehend and process required paperwork – e.g., packing slips, pick tickets, BOL, etc.
  • Transports products between locations driving a CDL vehicle.
  • Transports products to customers driving a CDL vehicle.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

What This Role Needs Experience and/or Training
  • Minimum one year in Shipping or Receiving.
  • 3 years experience driving a CDL vehicle preferred.
  • Experience with a sit-down forklift required.
  • Experience with a standup forklift preferred.
Licenses/Certificates

Class A CDL License.

Technology/Equipment
  • TCM and System knowledge:
    Includes item inquiry, BOM lookup, Part Specs, printing shipping labels, OTS database, shipping scanners.
Additional Skills
  • Understanding of basic lean philosophies (DDMS).
  • Knowledge of all wastes and where to dump certain types of scrap.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements

Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials. Be able to move around safely in a manufacturing environment. Lift up to 50 pounds with good body mechanics.

Working Environment

Operating a day cab tractor, loading trailers outdoors in weather as needed, loading trailers indoors next to production lines with loud noises and pedestrians working nearby. May operate a semi-truck for more than half the workday.
