Class B CDL DRIVER Job
Make local deliveries to customer jobsites to deliver and unload roofing materials timely and to assure that products on truck match purchase orders.
Perform daily truck and conveyor inspections compliant with DOT and OSHA regulations. Must have a Commercial Driver License, Class A or B, with the ability to drive a stick shift and manual transmission. Hazmat endorsement desired but not necessary.
Responsible for loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily. Verify quantities of material for accuracy. Drive the shortest distance to the job site, transport load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Unload or assist in unloading materials by using the crane, conveyor, piggybacks and/or by hand. Secure returning loads as appropriate prior to leaving job site. Responsible for climbing up a 40‑foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to 6‑12 or 8‑12 roof. Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.
DOT:
Inspect truck daily and complete the DOT pre‑trip and post‑trip inspection reports. Perform miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, gasoline, and air pressure in tires. Report any maintenance deficiencies to the Warehouse Manager.
OSHA:
Responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company.
Equipment:
Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery. Safely and properly operate motorized operation equipment including trucks, cranes, conveyors and piggybacks according to state laws. Record daily mileage and fuel according to the required reports.
Inventory:
Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.
Maintenance:
Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner. Minor repairs as needed.
Safety:
Responsible for the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, OSHA approved safety shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate. Responsible for safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer’s property and Gulfeagle’s property.
Customer:
Aiding customers with materials, reporting problems with deliveries, service issues and all others as needed.
