Schedule: 20 hours/week (Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm) OR 24 hours/week (Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 2:00 pm / Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

We are seeking a new Fitness Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you’ll be leading seniors in group fitness classes as well as individual instruction with a focus towards assisting them in achieving their fitness goals in a safe and friendly manner.

You’ll work alongside a dynamic and supportive team of Aquatic & Fitness Coordinators and Activity Coordinators, reporting directly to our Director of Community Life. This collaborative environment ensures you have all the support you need to succeed and grow in your career!

What You Will Do:

• Demonstrate proper and safe use of fitness equipment, able to properly demonstrate exercises to older population during 1:1 training.
• Use appropriate format for every class; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.
• Plan routines, choose appropriate variety of music, and modify movements to accommodate different levels of fitness depending on participants’ capabilities and/or limitations during class.
• Exhibit professionalism when dealing with class participants and facility staff.
• Encourage residents to take an active part in various fitness and recreational programs.
• Maintain resident files and assessments related to the fitness program. Maintains necessary attendance/participation and progress reports. Maintain confidentiality and appropriate safeguards on participant health records.
• Perform initial assessments and orientation for residents to actively participate in fitness programs and activities.
• Follow standards for participant and facility safety guidelines.
• Provide a consistent message of health to Eastcastle residents and staff.
• Assist Aquatic & Fitness Manager in daily disinfecting, weekly/monthly cleaning tasks; reports any maintenance concerns to supervisor.
• Assist Aquatic & Fitness Manager with pool and whirlpool simple operations as needed.

What You Will Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in group fitness and/or personal training is preferred with the appropriate knowledge base for safely leading group exercise.
• Prior experience in a long-term care facility, preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with residents, families, and staff. Must use sound judgment, work well under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills.
