Job Responsibilities

  • Two-track role:
    • Re-entry Employment Case Manager: coordinate program operations, manage referrals, case management, collaborate with Electronic Monitoring staff, and program reporting.
    • DRC Employment Case Manager: case management with intensive support, supervision, and monitoring of individuals ordered by court officials or by the District Attorney's office to participate in the Day Report Center (DRC) as part of their JOC or Deferred Prosecution.
  • Assist in determining eligibility of services and coordinate/documentation in AWARDS and on spreadsheets for collateral contacts for employment services (new referrals and ongoing case management).
  • Create and update individual resumes.
  • Provide a range of case management services with structure, accountability, and support for successful community compliance.
  • Make referrals and monitor community-based services including treatment, employment, education, and other supportive services.
  • Follow the supervision model of the Day Report Center and core elements, including use of the LS/CMI risk and need assessment tool.
  • Assist with DRC team staffing to determine case plans and monitoring for individuals in the DRC program.
  • Assist in determining sanctions and incentives, as appropriate for individuals in the program.
  • Conduct timely and accurate data entry.
  • Produce accurate and high-quality written and electronic files and internal and external system communications.
  • Work with DOC regarding treatment, follow-through, and other probation conditions for persons served.
  • Conduct drug and alcohol urine, saliva, and breath tests.
  • Assist staff with utilization of SCRAM CAM (and related monitoring systems) with House Arrest, Remote Breath, GPS, and Electronic Monitoring; monitor individuals as needed.
  • Weekend drug and preliminary breath testing as scheduled (Saturdays 7:00am to 10:00am).
  • Maintain flexible schedule to provide coverage in the Center as necessary.
  • Other job-related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
Job Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Social Work or other related field; consideration will be given to students working on a degree.
    • Ability to work with individuals involved in the justice system.
    • Possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and insured auto.
    • Must pass drug test.
    • Must pass driver's license and criminal background checks.
  • Knowledge,

    Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of the justice system.
    • Knowledge of local treatment programs and community resources including housing, education, public transportation.
    • Knowledge of the Circuit Court Access Program (CCAP) and jail data systems.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations.
    • Sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues.
    • Good organizational, computer and typing skills.
    • Ability to read and understand drug and alcohol testing results.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment.
    • Must be trained in all WCS required Evidence Based Principles within 90 days of hire and follow fidelity models established by the agency.
    • Must complete additional Re-Entry Employment trainings on job placement for justice-involved individuals, as assigned.
    • Follow the agency Code of Conduct and adhere to established policies and procedures.
    • Casual yet professional workplace appearance.
    • Reliability in reporting to work regularly and on time.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail when documenting individual contacts.
    • Maintain professional and respectful communication with co-workers, individuals served, courthouse personnel, and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision.
